Student Leadership

Every NASian, a SUPER youth.
(Selfless, Unafraid, Problem-solver, Excellent Role-model)

In Ngee Ann Secondary School, we believe that every student has the potential to be developed into a leader. This is especially important when we are living in times where change is the only constant and as teachers, we hope to be able to prepare students for life.

We adapt from Kouzes and Posner's Leadership Challenge Model to create our own "SUPER" framework, whereby we aspire for our student leaders to be "Selfless" and "Unafraid", and to be a "Problem-solver" and an "Excellent Role model". The school strives to develop our student leaders into purpose-driven individuals by embarking them on projects in their respective chosen areas of concern. The intent is to bring out their "dare" and creativity, as they attempt to solve problems by coming up with their own solutions. All these will make sure that our students remain grounded in values and practise good work ethics.

Since leadership should stem from one's passion to serve, the school has created various leadership opportunities for our students to take up, including being a Student Councillor, a CCA leader, a Class Leader, a Peer Leader, a Sports Leader or a VIA Leader. Students are also allowed to initiate their own projects that serve to improve either the school or the community.
