CHAMPS is Ngee Ann Secondary's Humanities Talent Development programme. It aims to develop students' critical thinking skills by exposing them to multiple perspectives that contribute towards moulding well-rounded students of the Humanities.
Structure of the programme
CHAMPS is a two-year programme for selected lower secondary students. Secondary One students who attain an A* or A for English Language and are ranked top 40 in the PSLE English Language rank list will be offered a place in the programme. Students who are selected to be part of the programme will be involved in weekly training sessions where they will learn the skills and strategies to effectively participate in inter-school Mock United Nations Conferences, Future Problem-Solving Competitions and other Humanities seminars and competitions.
CHAMPS students will also get the
opportunity to collaborate with students from other schools in
Humanities-related projects and may even have the chance to participate in
overseas Humanities field trips.
